These original art creations use a printed subject which is enhanced with painted effects. These 'paintings with print' offer a different artistic media.
Each piece of work is unique and the use of textured paint creates a piece of art work which if different to the normal.
This range of paintings where I have mixed print with paint and paint effects is my absolute favourite. I call them my "romantics" and "my ladies".
They are the old masterpieces, which are so beautiful and graceful. The faces and the hands show such amazing artistic skill.
They are painted on
thin board and are ready for framing. The borders I have done will add to the depth and I have been at pains to develop a technique that allows
the print to become so part of the painting that they emerge into each other. Take a close look to appreciate and enjoy the gorgeous texture,
colours and beauty. These pictures are sealed with a very good quality matt varnish and therefore can be hung and treated like a normal oil painting
(no glass needed). If you too are a lover the old masterpieces, then you have the opportunity to own your very own original with a modern touch. |

| About The Artist |

I was born in the beautiful land of Zimbabwe (then called Rhodesia).
The country I grew up in was safe and peaceful, which meant many happy picnics, fishing expeditions and camping in the raw African bush.
I spent 6 years during my teens in Zambia and because of my Father’s love of the bush and fishing, my memory is full of great adventures
in an unspoilt and wild African bush.
I have always loved the colours of Africa and even at school developed a love for art.
I started with paint effects and decoupage, which led to me doing a lot of my own brush art work, especially when I began working on ostrich eggs.
These I have sold all over the world and my technique was to capture a real life painting, rather than cut out stuck on pictures.
I had to develop the technique of painting the African bush and this led me to desire to start painting my own pictures.
My style is varied and unique as I was never influenced. I also have a passion for décor, colour and style.
Some of my paintings are with a décor style in mind and also a colour scheme.
I love the modern trends and have incorporated a lot of them into my paintings.
One is able to combine the grace and beauty of the old with the modern distressed look, paint techniques and amazing colours.
Apart from the African paintings, I have a passion for the pre-Raphelite artists and love their style.
This I have incorporated in my unique and very original paintings where I have mixed print with paint.
One can now have your own "original Ophelia"!
I am presently residing in the very beautiful city of Cape Town.
There is nothing to beat the light and colour and vibrancy of Africa.
Painting is my joy and I hope my paintings will hang in homes where they will add to your beauty.
